Personal Brandmark: Process 2

As I continue to develop my branding project, I have found that the three characteristics that best describe me are Balance, Unity, and Space. These characteristics have been my main focus as I develop my initial sketches and start working on my designs in Illustrator. However, I have also found that different inspirations have emerged as I dive deeper into the design process.

Despite this, I do feel that my designs are a reflection of myself. I challenged myself to go in three very different directions that embody different aspects of my personality. The first set focuses on uniformity and geometry through the use of clean Sans Serif fonts and a bold red color. The second set is different in its use of space and color schemes, as well as the use of two vastly different typefaces. The third set is the most eccentric, with an organic wave-like shape paired with an eclectic typeface.

One constant in my life has been my love for the beach. To incorporate this into my branding, I have used an organic wave-like shape as an iconography paired with my wordmark. This has resulted in a design that feels unique and personal to me.

As I move into the next stage of the project, I plan to look for more brandmark inspiration and dive deeper into color palettes. Although I am not sold on the color palette options I have chosen so far, I am confident that I will find the right colors that fit me best.

Overall, my designs are strong in their unity as a set. My use of typography and placement/distribution of space has always been a strength of mine, and I believe this comes through my designs so far. While I do not see any new skills that I need to learn at this time to continue this project successfully, I am excited to continue to explore and experiment with my designs to create a final product that truly reflects me.
